Bowron Place
Facilitated by: Center staff
Description: In this program (on PGYCC site) there is an emphasis
on peer counseling and staff / resident interaction. The program is
balanced between education, work, community service and
rehabilitation / recreation. Temporary absences and group outings
help facilitate community contact - also family reintegration,
community service, work experience, rehabilitation (Drug &
Alcohol, Narcotics Anonymous / Alcoholics Anonymous, Forensic
Counseling) are in place.

The main idea behind this program is to assist residents in
developing positive living and personal growth. To help youths to
set and achieve positive personal goals and develop a link with
community based programs and resources. In a sense it's an
introduction to positive lifestyles and healthy living using goal
setting as a tool for success.
Chaplaincy
Facilitated by: Chaplain (staff)
The Chaplaincy program provides pastoral/religious/spiritual care
through a variety of Chaplaincy services. The chaplain maintains a
pastoral presence in the institution and offers pastoral
counseling, religious services and Bible studies on a regular
basis. He also coordinates pastoral care volunteers, supervises
church outings, ensures that religious/spiritual services are
available to all, arranges visits/services for those requesting
ministry from specific faith/spiritual groups, liaisons with
community religious leaders and provides case management input. The
chaplain is seen as representing the spiritual dimension of life
and is available to minister to both residents and staff.
